yeah I just finished the Superannuation & Retirement Planning course which was a challenge but I did an intensive workshop which made it a lot easier (did ELC & Risk by correspondence) and apparently Investment Practices is pretty complex so I think I'll do another workshop for that...Zappa's the start of my surname so it's become a bit of a nickname, although Frank Zappa was before my time & I've only listened to a bit of his music from what I've heard he was a pretty cool dude/ musical genius, have always wanted to delve further into his history though...

Thanks for your support guys, this is a great little website/forum!

Should have my Diploma of Financial Planning by October (with Kaplan Warren, but I think they're related to FINSIA?) so will hopefully be able to give some decent input by then...;)

Welcome Zappa, it's so easy to spend more than you earn, so you're not doing too badly ;)

Long to go before you finish your financial planning degree? Is it with FINSIA?

Hi Zappa,

thank goodness my parents paid for my wedding, but i guess their control over me will last longer than i plan.

well, all the best with your financial planning and the plan to get back in the black!

Yep exactly! And the worst part is I'm studying to be a financial planner - although that is what's made me realise my situation and want to rectify it...I suppose making mistakes is the best way to learn. I'm not that much in debt anyway, considering I just put my wife thru uni & spent 20k on a wedding...another 6mths and we're back in the black!

Hello Zappa

Welcome, obviously by your goal you have managed to spend more than you have earned :-)

Cliff Mearns replied to Cliff Mearns's discussion Bankruptcy -v Debt Agreement
"Ben, let's not lose the loop. How financiers view bankruptcy is not relevant to the discussion of an individual's capacity to pay something. Bankruptcy is being utilised as a means of evading debt obligations. "

Bankruptcy ben replied to Cliff Mearns's discussion Bankruptcy -v Debt Agreement
"I agree with the setiment however in reality there's nothing to encourage an individual to make a payment with a Debt Agreement! While technically it's different most financial companies regard it as the same as bankruptcy."
