Nothing else can quite substitute for a few well-chosen, well-timed, sincere words of praise.
Recently there has been a considerable amount of discussion about the advantages and disadvantages of remote working.
Whether you are trying to motivate your team or close a deal, a casual conversation is usually a waste of your valuable time.
The advice to "just breathe" when you're stressed may be a cliché, but that doesn't make it untrue.
It continues to surprise me how many leaders attempt to be one way at work, while their "true" personality emerges outside of work.

I'm a young fella of only 72 and play an eighteen handicap. What hope has he got?
Cheers,
John.
I had a good time hanging out with my brother just over the border in New South Wales. We did a bit of golfing and spent a whole day out on the water sailing, then went out to the reef on a tourist trip for some fishing. All we caught were a few tiddlers, nothing worth a photograph.
You wouldn't believe it. A couple of days later the same boat was in the newspaper displaying a boatload of tourists with some of the greatest catches you only dream about. That sums up the story of my life. Wrong time, again.
Never mind, it gave us something to talk about.
Cheers,
John

Thank you for adding me as a friend. Sorry for being is such a rush, but I am preparing to go off for a couple of weeks holiday with my brother. I am sure we will have some interesting discussions when I arrive back home.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Cheers,
John.

or leave till later on
I play a "little", but am more cautious now than I used to be. I stick to the mining stocks, lowcost entries asx a rule but now and again, take a punt on an industrial.
