well, i do have shares portfolio whose value has halved since last year :(
but i have been looking to buy more shares since the prices and dividends look attractive right now. the only thing i keep telling myself is to be patient because it'll take a few years for the market to recover.
actually, the really attractive market for me is the property market. with lower price and lower interest rate, now we have a better chance to have a positively geared property investment. just don't expect that you could flip it with 100k profit in a year :D but the rent (which will always increase) will be a really nice extra income.
what do you think? how has this whole GFC (apparently it's not official unless you abbreviate it) affected you?

I suppose she could collect antique furniture. I would have to double the size of my house. Spare the thought. So I suppose when you look at it like that shoes dont need much room

Hi Tina,

Things have been up and down as the stock market, lols... Trying to keep my head above the water, made a few good decisions, purchased a few good shares when they were at the lowest and made a few bad decisions but hey thats the game isn't it...

Good to see things are well at your end, hw is the trading going for you.

Tc.

Would be interested to know how much is too much to spend on shoes? My lady spends about $2000. Has over 120 Pairs. No more room in the wardrobe but still the buying goes on. The reason "I just love to smell the new leather and to just look at them" Not a single comment about wearin g them !!

Hi Tina,
Well, i dont want to overestimate but if i keep doing what i'm doing now (and save even more) and follow my plan consistently (and mute the negative voices in my head), i will get there on time :)
Just dont get sucked in to the theory that encourages you to be a millionaire ONLY when you're retired (and implies that you cannot do it sooner). Why do you want to wait til you wrinkle to be financially independent?
With the right mindset and plan, people our age (<30) can be a millionaire by 40 easily and comfortably.
I know you can!

No. I came into the field much later. I started mortgage broking as it is something that I can do which is flexible enough to cope with being a mother of special needs kids. Having been ripped off in the past though certainly has made me far more scrupulous with my own practices.
