I let Victorian Workcover Association off with akin to theft because I was too sick to fight them and they took advantage of it. LEARN MY FRIENDS, THEY ARE NOT THERE TO HELP YOU, but to deny you any entitlement they can, even if it means lying under oath!!! BEWARE

Hi Miffy, Thanks for the welcome. With regards to if now is the right time to get into property, that really depends on the area you are looking at. You have to look at what is going on in any particular area that is likely to effect the property rental yields and growth. While some areas might be a bit stagnant, others that have a lot of infrastructure going on indicates there is movement for some reason. Finding out why this movement is happening could indicate that there is going to be a need for more housing in the area. If there is little around, then demand is going to outstrip supply hence rental prices will go up as will the value of the property. It also depends if you are buying for immediate cashflow or long term strong growth. You may well find that you will get one in one part of the country and another in a different state. Knowing what is going on re business and industry can give you a good indicator of where there will be movement and where to keep a watch on. Knowing what you want or need in your portfolio to balance it will play a big part in your decision as to whether now is a good time or not. Hope that helps a bit!

Hi Sue, welcome! You're right - passive income is the key. But I wonder, is now the time to get into property?
