The things that are thrown at us in life certainly make us who we are, and I imagine you're all the stronger for having 2 kids with autism. It's something that's not that widely understood in the community (by me either), with myths as to what it is. I saw a doco the other day about the guy who inspired the autistic character in the movie Rain Man - Kim Peek - which was fascinating stuff.

But then when I just looked him up on Wikipedia:
