"Good to hear!!!! Did this investment come to you, or have you been looking around for somewhere to invest? I ask only because everyone seems a bit stumped when it comes to where to invest - stockmarket is getting hammered, property prices are…"

Miffy replied to Andrea's discussion IPAD Investments (student accomodation)
"No doubt at all J! :) You and Matt are spot on, this type of thing should be avoided like the plaque, even in the most bullish of property markets. The only people who win from this type of investment are the developers and the agents."

"Sorry about that. I thought the blog had eaten my first comment so I wrote another. Then it put up both. In any case now there will (hopefully) be no doubt as to what I am saying or my opinion. :-)"

Hi Andrea - how's it all going with your knowledge gathering? Are you on track to find your niche?

Ah, a niche is always good. And so is holding your cards close to your chest, which is why I won't press you for further details ;)

Patience is good, but there is also a time for action. Don't wait too long!

Too true - I think it's perseverance that makes the difference in the end. But before that you've got to be prepared to make a leap of faith, go out on a limb, stick your neck out, etc. There are many cliches because it's such an important thing for us humans to do. Whether you succeed or fail, you'll always be proud of having had the courage to do it. And that's success in my book - being able to look back on your life and be proud of what you have done.

Hi Andrea, I've only been around a few weeks...I think that's pretty much when it started. There are some smart cookies on here, and I have it from a good source that all the FatCat journalists will be joining us from next week to answer questions and help us on our quest for knowledge. GirlClumsy is one of the FatCat journos, and she's a fountain of knowledge, so you can chat to her about anything you like.

In terms of what I'm getting out of it, it's like anything in life - the more effort you put in, the more you'll get out of an experience. ;)

Cliff Mearns replied to Cliff Mearns's discussion Bankruptcy -v Debt Agreement
"Ben, let's not lose the loop. How financiers view bankruptcy is not relevant to the discussion of an individual's capacity to pay something. Bankruptcy is being utilised as a means of evading debt obligations. "

Bankruptcy ben replied to Cliff Mearns's discussion Bankruptcy -v Debt Agreement
"I agree with the setiment however in reality there's nothing to encourage an individual to make a payment with a Debt Agreement! While technically it's different most financial companies regard it as the same as bankruptcy."
