FatCat's MoneyConfessions - helping you save (& make) money, one click at a time

I'm a single mum, daughter 16.  She gets youth allowance, so I've lost a lot of pay.  If I work centrelink take half my money, and housing trust take quarter.  I could study more or struggle to find work.  What do you think I should do - thanks in advance.

Study more. If you are going to re-enter the labour pool then it is better to do it at a higher level.
i agree with you jacquesk. I'm studying but finding it very hard to cope with finances. I'll have to seek a bit of work to up my pay - so I can afford to live! Not easy. thanks for replying - you were the only one who did!
Hello Di

Maybe you could find employment that includes some training as part of the package, the employer could maybe get some tax credits and on paper your wages are less, less tax. The other avenue is an adult apprenticeship, I believe they are heavily sponsored by the Govt.

Using any of these you would gain experience as well as education
Thanks Bandwith - I will look into that!

"I agree with the setiment however in reality there's nothing to encourage an individual to make a payment with a Debt Agreement! While technically it's different most financial companies regard it as the same as bankruptcy."
