My husband and I am in the process of starting a self funded super fund. Anyone in the same situation care to give me some advice.

There are now short courses on them as people are starting to realise there is a bit more to them then expected. Try doing one of these as it will give you the knowledge and thus the necessary confidence in handling your own.
Hi Annette, it is not hard to run a smsf except to realise your abilities and have a good accountant who set it up and do the required work. Keep your paperwork tidy and education going forward. Have the goals clear with agreement , listen to your inner self, use your common sense, do not be greedy, try to enjoy helping yourself and each other.
I have just set up a self funded super fund .I have property but would like to diversify into share trading.Recently asked my accountant various questions but have not been satisfied with answers.Is it frowned upon to execute short trades.I like to do this as I can be quite succesful at this.Thanks for any help.
I too would be interested in feedback about the short trading , we intend to set an amount aside to do the same. Maybe you can give me some stock tips amo...lol

"I agree with the setiment however in reality there's nothing to encourage an individual to make a payment with a Debt Agreement! While technically it's different most financial companies regard it as the same as bankruptcy."
